Through dimensional separation of a polygon in a certain mathematic pattern, the reassembled volume should fit together as a kind of three dimensional puzzle. Diversity is to be created by the possibility of different arrangements.
The icosaedric volume from the platonic volume was the result of the research. With cutting the icosahedron, three central layers and a core were developed. The flat layer, which can be unfolded, is similar to their shape but scaled in dimension.
For compensating the scaled dimensions of the layers, the outer appearance reaches to the core by using wood with a matte foil in three shades of grey.
A flat but highly flexible and stable connection is enabled by the foil, allowing the shape to be changed easily. The use of laminated wood visually emphasizes and reinforces the coated structure.
